Your hands are tied behind your back. You dig your wrists into the rope, feeling it's filaments cut through your skin. You smell the air- it is cool, damp. You listen closely for any sounds. A crackling fire burns far away. You slow your breathing in effort to hear anything else. The quiet resonates, stronger than the firing of a thousand bullets. You try to move your feet only to find outside your boots they are also tied to a pole, cold, hard, metal. Finally, you open your [[eyes]]Darkness surrounds you. The pole you are tied to faces two hallways, one to the right and the other to your left. You slowly edge yourself around the pole, finding a saall spott where the metal was ripped away creating a sharp point. You look towards both hallways. To the right, there is a small bouncing light. A torch. Someone is there, you must be quiet. You carefully edge your hands up and down on the metal. The rope slowly breaks until your hands are free. You reach down and untie your shoes. Suddenly a [[purple cloud of smoke]] appears.A man apprears in front of you. He looks young, but unlike anyone you have seen before. He is wearing a navy blue cloak with elaborate gold designs. He quickly grabs your mouth to prevent you from speaking. You don't struggle, knowing if you do you will make sound. Whoever he is, he is not as much of an enemy as the King's guard. When you stop the man releases you then steps back and smiles. He laughs at your confused face as he engulfs your body in a hug. "Gott, we came! We rescued you!" When you do not answer he looks at you in confusion. "Gott? Don't you remember me?"
You do not answer. Realization appears in his eyes as he takes a heavy breath. "Listen Gott. I can't explain now but you know me. You don't remember it but you do. Please trust me and I'll explain when we are out of Mord's castle."
Will you [[trust]] or [[ doubt]] him?"Good. Now come, we must pick a path. One of them will lead to a potential injury while the other will lead us out safely."
[[right]]
[[left]]The man sighs. You look away, ignoring him and focusing on your binds. Before you can scream you feel something sharp stab into your arm and your vision goes black. Again.
[[wake up]]You follow the right trail, where the fire is. As you hide in the corridor you see a guard holding a torch. He is fully protected in black armor and has a short blade at his side. He kneels down and writes on the ground. You start to venture foreward, until you feel an arm block you. The man you is pointing at a small gong two feet away from the guard. Anyone would be able to hear and come if the gong was hit. You step foreward, feeling the man touch your arm. You look back and he shakes his head. Will [[you attack the guard]], allow [[the man]] to fight him or [[sneak past]]?You ignore the light bobbing in the right corridor and head down the left. Suddenly you feel an arm grab yours too late. Your foot nicks a tripwire and you are sent sprawling in a wall at the end dotted with knives. You fell the man's arm pull you back as your momentum brings you closer to the wall. Closing your eyes you feel a knife, as if in slow motion, cut into your chest.
You died.
[[Start]]You look at the man for help and he nods. Slowly, carefully he brings his hands out from his long sleeves. He mutters small words, small tendrils of blue and purple emerge from his palms. You step back, confused. The man is a wizard, and a highly skilled one. The man stops saying incantations and waves his hands in tiny motions towards the guard. Your eyes follow the magic until with a clank the guard's sword drops. His legs give out and he is sitting, hunched over, leaning on the wall. You quickly [[exit the castle]].You look at the man for help. He nods and starts muttering under his breath. He is a wizard! And he is powerful too, if he is able to do magic without a staff like the King does. You quickly stop him, unsure of what spell he is using. He stops and stares at you. You take the edge of his sleeve and when the guard continues writing, scramble behind the gong. The guard looks at you in surprise and you bring a finger to your lips. Looking at the floor you take a small pebble and throw it towards your previous hiding spot. The guard looks up and leans foreward to investigate. Following the sliver of shadowed wall you and the man safely [[exit the castle]].The man and you quickly run to the nearby forest, only about 20-30 strides away. Jogging a little deeper into the dense birch trees you stop and rest your hands on your knees. The man looks at you, raises each of your wrists in turn. He lets out a small sound when he sees the small cuts from digging your wirsts into the rope.
"I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Dinn, an you found me on the outskirts of town when you escaped."
[["escaped from where?"]]
[["Continue..."]]The man and you quickly run to the nearby forest, only about 20-30 strides away. Jogging a little deeper into the dense birch trees you stop and rest your hands on your knees. The man looks at you, raises each of your wrists in turn then examines the wound at your side. It is shallow, the bleeding has already stopped but it is in a place where you will most likely open it again if you exercise. Sighing you brush your tattered shirt over the wound, covering it.
"I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Dinn, an you found me on the outskirts of town when you escaped."
[["escaped from where?"]]
[["Continue..."]]"I'm sorry, you're right. I haven't told you yet. A year ago you escaped from Mord's castle, remember Mord, your uncle? I don't know if you remember but he was evil, wicked. He killed your father, his own brother, and stole his kingdom! When you escaped you cam across me, newly graduated wizard, devilishly handsome, and our friendship was feuled by a shared detestment for Mord. But Galdur's in danger, no time for talk.
[["Galdur?"]]"I knew you would do this."
You step back as the wizard reaches into his pocket. He helped you escape but he told you lies.
The man (Dinn?) raises his eyebrows at your action but proceeds shuffling his hand around. Suddenly you pulls it out. You brace yourself for a poof of magic or a dark curse. Instead he hold up a yellowed piece of paper, torn at the edges and weathered as if it was left out for a year.
"Wanted," Dinn reads, "Gott previously known as Gott of Galdur, crown prince, for crimes against the King and the country. Reward: 350,000 gealde if found."
Your mind races through the numbers 350,000 gealde? That could buy an enormous estate, a farm, a small castle... But Dinn only had one poster. Perhaps he made it to [[trick you.]]"You think I'm trying to trick you, and you think I made the poster."
You look up as Dinn speaks, trying to conceal your obvious shock.
"It's alright, I know you like the back of my hand. Look." You follow Dinn's hand, where he gestures a the same poster nailed on a tree. About 40 yards behind it you see another familiar yellowed paper. You turn around towards the castle and see a poster nailed near the giant drawbridge.
You can't ignore it. Dinn is telling the truth.
[["Why does Mord hate me?"]]
[["What was I doing?"]]"Well for starters you're the rightful king, not him. Your execution was supposed to be the day after tomorrow, you know. For another, you were building an army to revolt when you got captured. You were trying to recruit giants, but we didn't have the correct map. Most of the fighters believe you to be dead so we will have to recruit new people. Here, wear this mask. You can't be recognized until we know you are safe."
You take the mask and look at it. It is navy leather, rough on the outside soft on the inside. You see a nook in the place the nose would be. It is undeniable now, the nook exactly fits into your nose.
"I see you believe me now. We must go to the bar for recruits."
[[pub]]"You were building an army to revolt when you got captured. You were also on the way to find giants to recruit, but we need a map first. "I see you believe me now. We must go to the bar for recruits."
[[pub]]Together you walk into a busy town. Villagers dressed in drab clothes bustle around. They murmer to each other, no one's voice rising above a yell as they look around fearfully.
"FRESH BEER! GET YOUR FRESH BEER HERE TODAY!" You turn towards an obviously drunk man stationed outside a small building. Two small clouded windows are next to a pair of double doors. ABove the doors, a sign advertises "LEAKY'S PUB: FREE BEER AT 25 O'CLOCK".
You and Dinn shoulder past the still yelling man and step into the building. Three people are spread out around the pub. One is a woman. She has alluring green eyes and deep red hair. She wears all black, and swishes a tankard around. The second is a veteran soldier of the King's. He has a short blade at his side and wears a green shirt with cut sleeves. The third is a hunter, wearing forest colors and a clutching a bow. You look at Dinn, unsure of who to speak to first. Dinn gestures toward the woman.
the [[woman]]"We must head through the mountains then follow a path to the lake, where the giants live." Dinn reads. You look up and see the mountains. Ragged peaks scream death and the path winding through them is full or darkness. The charred rocks are black as night with crystal white snow gathered at the tops. "Would you like to go through the path or climb up?"
[[path]]
[[climb]]
[[I'm TIIRREED]]"You must be Gott."
You and Dinn have arrived at the meadow when you hear a voice. You turn around- a small being is perched on a branch. She has long blue hair almost touching her tiny waist. Her skin is lightly tinged with periwinkle and she carries a small wand. Her wings are glittery and sparkle in the low light.
"My name is Blue. If you couldn't tell by now, I'm a fairy." You stared at her, awestruck. Faries were rare, sacred.
"I hear from Dinn you plan to find the giants. The path is dangerous. And remember once you reach them, do not be decieved by appearances. I will give you this map to aid you on your journey"
Blue's wand stops glittering and a map is conjured. You stammer a thank you, still in a dream-like state. The fairy smiles then disapears in a small explosion of fairy dust.
You jerk awake as Dinn reaches foreward and picks up some dust to place it in a tiny vial connected to a cord. He corks it and hands it to you. "Fairy magic has special powers. If you're ever in need use it. You'll know how."
continue on your [[journey]]You sit across the woman and take a closer look. Her lips are blood red and she wears a matching black hat, pulled deep over her eyes and obscuring her face from view. She shakes her boot-clad foot, shaking the ice in her tankard.
"Hello ma'am my name is-"
"I know who you are. Your King Gott, his Majesty the ruler. Or should I say," she looks at you from under her hat. "Outlaw?"
"How do you know this?" Your mind races, if she recognized you anyone could. You had not taken off your mask.
"Let's just say I'm... skilled in certain arts." You look closer and realize behind the green in her eyes there is dark black that make her light green contacts forest green. The sure sign of-
"That's right. I'm a witch. Thrown out of the country for it, I was. Told everyone I was a traitor that Mord. Couldn't pay me for my magic and suddenly I'm on the streets. Wretched pig." She took a deep breath and looked at you in the eyes. "But that's not what you came for, is it?"
What will you say?
"[[can I touch your hair?]]"
''[[will you join my army?]]"
"[[what happened?]]"You walk over to the soldier. He has sunken tired eyes and rolls a coin between his fingers.
"Who are you." He doesn't ask. It is a command. You slide into the stool opposite from him, staring into his face.
"Gott, son of the king, nephew to Mord, rightful heir of the Galdur throne. Currently building an army to take back said throne." You look at Dinn in surprise. Why did he trust the soldier so quickly? "He's a traitor to Mord. Haven't you seen his posters? They were right next to yours." You vaugly remember a picture of a man with dark eyes and a snarling face.
"That's right wizard. I was a soldier, the Earl Constable. Rose my way up the ranks in a year and a half. Full loyalty to the king. Until he tried to have me killed." The man wipes his brow with anger and pockets the coin. "I was threatening his position as King. I escaped the execution. Been on the run since."
What will you say?
"[[Join my army.]]"
"[[I can help you get revenge.]]"You approach the hunter. He is sharpening an arrow, and chewing a piece of hay.
"Escucha son. I've seen what you can do. I know what you're here for. You're prince-supposed to be king- Gott and you want to take over Mord's throne. Well I'll join you if you listen to my deal. Si?
You look at Dinn, who's face is as blank as yours surely is. His accent is unlike anything you've ever heard before in Galdur. And what were these strange words?
What will you say?
[[Why would you want to join me?]]
[[What do you want?]]"Join your army, join your army." She starts laughing, setting her cup down on the table. "Of course you want me to join. Well, answer this question. Why would I? What's in it for me? IF i join and we win, and if I join we will win, then what do I get for my efforts? Who's to say you won't trash me like your uncle did? No one that's who. Go away pretty boy, you won't find help from me."
What will you say?
"[[I'm not like Mord.]]"
"[[Dinn can cast a binding spell.]]""What happened? I cast a spell for your dear old uncle, of course. Gave him the secret of Maldon (do you know Maldon?) which let him kill your father. The curse connected to the secret allows him to control other people. He forced one of your father's soldiers to kill the mighty ruler. Of course you knew that before but I'm guessing your memory was..."
She holds up her hand and whisks it in front of your eyes. Black smoke tingles from her fingertips.
"Erased."
You look at her defiantly, not wanting to show any fear. She pauses, staring at you before turning towards the bar in one swift movement.
"Well of course Mord tried to kill me instead of paying me. And I happen to be quite dramatic, so I killed his soldiers and cursed his gold. Not like dragon gold, that's cursed beyond use. I cursed it so he couldn't touch it, couldn't bask in his newfound riches. Your father was a good king, but he was not strong. Mord is strong, but lacks compassion and has too much greed. But you, what do you have? WHat do you want from me?
"[[will you join my army?]]""No one is as evil as Mord child. But people are close..."
"Please."
"No."
You stare in dismay as the witch exits the pub. But you need to recruit someone. You walk to the [[soldier]]."A binding spell? I can do better than that, petty boy. I'm more skilled than your friend dressed in fancy pajamas will ever be. Come child." She grabs a small blade strapped on your leg, then touches your chest, above your heart. You groan, feeling as if someone ripped your heart out. A small blob of gold dust is in her hand. You hear Dinn gasp next to you as she presses it into the blade.
"High level magic of a... enchanted sorceress, performed in the 1300s but never before.. It can't be possible to... if she takes it and stabs something..."
"Dinn what did see do?" You grab the trembling wizard and look at the witch.
"He thinks I took your soul." She wipes the blade on her dress. It now shines with an odd glowing light. SHe shoves the knife in your hand. "I didn't. I took your plans as king. When you rule you'll pay me. If you don't you won't know what to do as king. Now I have places to be."
She drops coins into the tankard with a echoing clank and sweeps out of the bar. Stopping near the door she turns and looks at you. "I'll be fighting at the east side of the castle." Then she disapears.
You take a deep breath then look at Dinn. He nods in the direction of the [[soldier]]."Army? You're planning on fighting Mord? That's a bad idea, Gott. You have to be careful who you trust too." You watch his eyes flicker to Dinn. "I'll join. If you can prove you can win against him." He stand up and gestures to the bartender. You see the man audibly sigh but begins to push aside tables and chairs. With your attention on the barman, the soldier takes a blade from his side.
"Don't worry, it's blunt. Can't even cut through paper, forget about human skin. I expect you'll have a weapon up to par?" You look at your leg, at the knife with your dreams in it. Too sharp. Suddenly Dinn hands you a plastic kife, obnoxiously blue. You thank Dinn and prepare yourself for battle.
Suddenly you see the soldier lunge.
Will you dodge [[Left]] or [[Right]]?"Yeah? How? Your uncle took everything from me, not some feudal lord who has no connection to you. You have the same blood running through your veins. How do you plan on getting this revenege?"
[[Join my army.]]"You are the rightful king of Galdur, not your uncle."
[["Galdur?"]]"He really erased your memory. Galdur is your kingdom. Yours, not your uncle's. What did you think you were doing in the dungeon? Nevermind, that's not of importance right now. My name is Dinn, wizard, age 23, and the future King's best friend (that would be you)."
[["You're not telling the truth."]]The blade narrowly misses you. You stop and regain your balance. You study his gait, he is limping slightly on his right leg. His left hand is his dominant, but he seems to be ambidextrous as he attacked with his right. Will you attack [[his leg]] or [[his arm]]?You feel the blade cut into your arm slightly. It doesn't bleed but stings slightly. You are losing. If you miss another chance to attack he will think of you as weak. You stop and regain your balance. You study his gait, he is limping slightly on his right leg. His left hand is his dominant, but he seems to be ambidextrous as he attacked with his right. Will you attack [[leg]] or [[arm]]?He kicks his leg up, but your blade blocks it. You cut into his leg then twist around and chokehold him, pulling your body back. With a thump you fall on the floor and lock your legs around his. Pressing your fake knife to his neck you allow a grunt of satisfaction. You have won.
Shaking himself free you walk up to the soldier and shake his hand. He looks at you and nods. "I'll join." Without another word he walks out of the bar, disapearring just as the witch had.
Turning to Dinn, he gestures at the final person. the [[hunter]].You lunge for his arm but he swings it back causing you to fall foreward. He locks your legs down then puts his weight on your back preventing your arms or torso from moving. He touches his knife lightly to your neck, then climbs off. You sigh, knowing you have lost.
"Sorry kid, I got better things to do."

[[hunter]]"I've had my share of Mord's bad side, you're not the only one. I was a seaman, ruthless, feared. After meeting Mord, I'm a poor hunter on the run constantly stealing from the king."
[[What do you want?]] "When I came to Galdur I met una mujer, and we were married soon after. We had a child, and when we win I want her back. Both of them. He took mi familia."
[[Agreed]]"Then I'll join. I've seen you can fight, I've seen your brave and I've seen your willing to give anything and face anything to win. I won't be happy staying near the witch." He spits as he says this. "But I'll manage for my family."
You shake his hand, surprised how simple this exchange was.
"The king's guards are about to change and I need to pickpocket at least one before they leave, so adios mi amigo."
You and Dinn watch as the hunter swaggers out the door, hands in his pockets whilstling an unfamiliar tune. Turning towards Dinn you wait.
"Well I think you should go to the meadow now. Hopefully they'll still remember you." You look at Dinn, confused but he waves you off. "You'll see." he promises.
the [[meadow]]You and Dinn cautiously make your way down the path. You stand back to back, watching for any sign of danger. Dinn's hands sparkle with magic, ready at any moment to strike. Your hands hold a bow, conjured by Dinn, ready with an arrow. Your trusty dagger is at your left with a sword on your right side. Your footsteps echoe on the worn ground, sure signs people have traveled on the trail. No animals can be seen for miles. You turn as you hear a rustle from your left. A small rabbit, white and innocent, sprints away from you.
"Gott, listen to me." You turn your head the slightest to turn your ear towards Dinn's whispering mouth. "Those rabbits are native only in Faldor, which is across the sea. They are extinct here because of overhunting. There's someone skilled at hunting here, because they're extrememly fast. They must've bred a new colony, or else this wouldn't be possible. It's a distraction, pretend to hunt it so they-"
Before Dinn could finish you heard a yell. Ropes landed around you and people dressed in all black dropped down. Seventeen bandits surrounded you from all sides, running out of nooks in the rocks or dropping with rope support.
Will you [[try to recruit them]] or [[fight]]?You and Dinn slowly but surely make your way up the mountain. Snow and wind bites at your face, and melted water seeps into your boots. You make your way down the mountain and hear yelling. You look at Dinn, as you are unable to understand the language.
"Who you?!" You look behind you. A tribal looking man stares at you. He is deathly pale with strange blue markings around his face and on his arms. He wears a furry tunic, likely made of the skins of mountain animals, and carries a sharp pointed spear. It seems to be made of iron, so this tribe has traded with Galdur or neighboring kingdoms. "Who?" He repeats, shaking his spear.
"Gott." You say slowly, pointing at yourself. "Dinn." You gesture at Dinn. You are not afraid of the tribe yet, there is only one here.
As soon as this thought goes through your mind twenty soldiers appear behind the first. They look at you with a hard, cold glare.
Will you [[beg to leave]], [[fight them]], or [[speak to them]]?"Wait!" You scream, holding up your hands. You drop your bow and arrow. "I am Gott, rightful ruler of Galdur. I have come to recruit members in my army to fight against Mord. Please join me. Think of what the king has done to-"
You are thrown on your back, and a blade slices deep into your left leg. Crying out in pain you shove the bandit off you and kick another with your right leg. An explosion of magic traps you and Dinn in a dome, a giant yellow force feild. The bandits yell, stabbing and punching the dome. They run away in all directions, scattering like mice. You heave a sigh of relief then hold your leg, your arms shaking. Dinn's arms shake too, with the weight of the forcefeild. He collapses next to you.
"Dinn, are you okay?" you mumble quietly. He reaches into your pocket and takes out the vial of fairy dust. Slowly, it falls out on top of your leg. Your skin seems to be stitching itself up, rosy and tender like new skin. All your pain has faded. Dinn then stops pouring it, and drops a drop on his tongue. His previously tired eyes brighten and he stands easily.
"Like I said-very powerful." Dinn smiles and reaches down to grab your arm. He hoists you up and together you make your way down [[the trail]].You release three arrows, severing three ropes at the top causing four of them to fall and scramble away. Dinn follows and uses a burst of magic to cut the rest. Six more follow the first four, but there are still seven bandits left. You turn and punch one on the side of his face, and whirl to quickly sidestep a blow. Before anyone can reach you, you jump in the air and kick another bandit away. Facing the first bandit you kick his side, reach in for a punch- but he grabs your fist and slams you to the ground.
You continue, elbowing the fighter in the face. Reaching for rocks, sand, you throw sediment in his face. He screams and claws at his eyes, then runs away. You jump up and quickly grab your knife from your side. Looking to your right, you see Dinn has three bandits hanging in the air. Kicking one of the three remaining bandits away you chokehold another and scream. "Stop or he dies!"
The bandits whisper to one another in their odd language. They put their hands up and walk, then run away. Dinn lets the three down slowly and they follow their friends. FInally you shove the last bandit away from you, and turn to Dinn.
"Good job." You manage to mutter. He nods and wipes his lip, where he has a small cut. You put your hand at your side and roll your back, checking if anything is broken. When you find yourself unharmed you continue down [[the trail]].You drop to your knees and place your hands together. You are humiliated, but you may escape with your life. You do not say any words, knowing they will not understand. Through your peripheral vision you see Dinn do the same.
You feel a knife at your throat. Bad idea. Should have fought. The knife cuts deeper into your throat and your vision fades.
You died.
[[Start]]You look at the warriors. A few have spears but many have simple wooden sticks with rocks. You roll up your sleeves and prepare. Dinn's hands start shaking through they have not started emitting light yet.
The first warrior screams and charges. The others follow, an army of spears. You quickly punch the first warrior in the jaw. You spin to avoid a spear the kick a man to the valley below. Dinn blasts sparks and balls of fire and light. The warriors run in fright. Magic is unheard here. You see Dinn's acts alone are quickly driving them away.
"Thank you, Dinn." You say.
"Are you ready?"
[["yes"]]You yell, trying to draw all their attention. "I am Gott. I would like the speak to your ruler, or your chief. Where is he?"
The first man stares at you and covers your eyes with a rough skin and holds your hands behind your back. He pushes you foreward.
Your head is forced down, and you duck. After walking a few steps you are pushed on your knees, head to the ground. Your blindfold is whipped off.
"Why are you here?" You look up. A man similar looking to the first warrior stares at you. This one is obviously of a higher rank, older, wiser, stronger. The chief. He understands your language.
"I am the rightful king of Galdur. I have come to recruit an army. The evil king, Mord, my uncle, has destroyed Galdur. Will you help me protect it?
[[the chief]]You look back at the mountains, remembering. You turn away. There are two paths. One is plated in cobblestone, worn but intact. The other is dirt, pressed down and mixed into mud from melting snow on the mountains. Which will you choose.?
[[dirt]]
[[stone]]You look back at the mountains, remembering. You turn away. There are two paths. One is plated in cobblestone, worn but intact. The other is dirt, pressed down and mixed into mud from melting snow on the mountains. Which will you choose?
[[dirt]]
[[stone]]You and Dinn make your way down the dirt trail. You realize as you walk there is little plantlife, and almost no humans. A mill is empty, unused for years and scorced on the side. A fire?
"No. Not a fire." You look at Dinn, surprised. He stares into a rocky outsrop, the ceiling miles above your head. "A dragon. The dragon. The Beast of Hallows Cave. It is red, with emerald eyes. It breathes fire, and iledgend says its wingspan is large enough to block out the sun. The locals sacrifice sheep every year to him."
You stare at Dinn, not knowing what to say.
Will you [[go into the cave]] or [[continue]]?You and Dinn walk along the stone path. Dinn looks at the path curiously, then stops. "Do you hear that?" he says. You listen, then hear small sounds, as if someone is arguing. He turns to you.
"Mord has a soldier base here. Look, the path is stone, and made of limestone which is found near the black mountains. It's abundant and cheap, but soft so it has been worn. Mord has been using it instead of cobblestone. Do you see how it is white? Underneath these black marks? Those black marks are imprints from the soldier's boots. Should we destroy their camp?"
[[destroy the camp]]
[[sneak past the camp]]You slowly sneak into the cave. Then, rounding a corner you see it. The dragon is red as blood, with large shovel-like scales and wings. It's tail is at least the size of a whole town and is clubbed with spikes at the end. You creep near, not allowing yourself to breath. Suddenly the dragon opens it's [[emerald eyes]]You and Dinn continue walking, sneaking past the cave. You won't be able to recruit the dragon, but you won't be killed either.
You continue to the [[lake]].You draw your sword quickly as it lifts itself in the air in one fluid motion and breaths a blast of fire. You roll to your side, cursing as a flame hits your side. You duck behind a rock and wince as it is blasted. You run across the cave, blasting more fire away with your sword. Suddenly a large shadow moves over you. The dragon crosses to the entrance, blocking you in. Dinn is outside, helpless against his tail.
What will you do?
[[keep fighting]]
[[tell him you want to fight Mord]]"Mord?" The dragon hisses, clawing its way closer to you. "Why would you try to recruit me? I could take Mord and his army by himself."
"Then why haven't you?" You scream. You throw your sword to it's side, ignoring it as it clanks against the scorched ground. "Join me to defeat him. I can give you what you want."
"I want Mord's head." He growls, a small burst of fire escaping him. "He banished me here." You stare at the dragon. He looks from you to your fallen sword. He could kill you. But he won't if you are trying to kill Mord.
"Mutual enimies. That's the only reason for our alliance." The dragon lifts off with the same agility displayed before and flies towards the mountains, towards Mord's castle. Your knees give out, and your side begins to burn. Dropping you lift your shirt. The skin is red, nearing black. Tiny red spots scream blood but you replace the shirt, ignoring your pain.
Dinn strides over to you, and together you continue to the [[lake]].You approach the lake. It is a foggy blue, glowing with a small light. You see something else glowing- a fairy. It is Blue. She flutters around the surface of the lake, dropping magic. She flies to you, brandishing her wand.
[["Why are you here, Blue?"]]You sneak past the camp with Dinn. Or at least you try to.
Long story short, they killed you.
[[Start]]You and Dinn crawl near the side of the camp. It is surrounded by oak walls, painted to resemble iron. You watch as Dinn conjures a torch and lights it with a small tap of his finger. He hands it to you. "I'll light the north and est sides. You get the rest. " You nod, take the torch and run to the west side. You slowly dip your torch to the wall, waving it in a figure eight motion to catch fire faster. You hurry to the south side and light it in the same fashion. You sprint to the east side, smelling smoke. The last thing you hear before apporaching DInn is "Did they burn the chicken?"
You and Dinn hurry towards the [[lake]], ignoring the screams for water behind you."I have come to cast a spell to make the giants appear. Without this spell they will never awaken." Then, before you can say anything she disappears again.
Suddenly you hear rumbling and the ground begins to shake. The lake seems to be drawing in on itself, whirling slowly then quicker until it is a vortex of water. Mist gathers above the lake as the water is sucked into the hole. You see a [[head]] emerge.A giant with shaggy brown hair appears first. His beard is loosely tied at his chin, ragged and cut unevenly. He has turned down lips and small squinty eyes hidden behind his bushy eyebrows. He scratches his head as he rises out of the mini hurricane, holding a spiked club and wearing a small ferret hat. The other giant is noticeably smaller than the other, only reaching to about his waistline. While the previous is about 20 feet tall, this one is only about twice the size of a human. His face is curled into an angry glare and he holds a similar, but much smaller, club. He has larger eyes, and stares directly at you and Dinn.
Which giant will you speak to?
[[the bigger giant]]
[[the shorter giant]]
[[Dinn. He's really tall.]]"We-"
"WRRROOOONNG! HAHA!" You jump as spit flies from the shorter giants' mouth. The larger looks at the shorter one and lets out a small, confused laugh. With one leap the short giant raches over and knocks your head with his club. The last thing you see is Dinn collapsing beside you as the same fate befalls him.
[[...]]"Sir, we need your help." The giant looks momentarily surprised, telling you you've made the correct choice. "I am-"
"Gott, nephew of Mord, rightful king of Galdur."
Everyone seems to know who you are now. They're really taking away the fun of seeing their astonished faces. Oh well.
"Yes. I need your help to take my kingdom back."
"Nah. Yer a weakling. Wouldn't even stand a chan..." the shorter giants' eyes suddenly glaze over, as if deep in thought.
"Tell yeh what. You an' your friend can beat me an' Yunn in a fight, we're in. You did it with the little kid from the bar, didn'cha?"
[["Alright"]]
[["No."]]You open your eyes. This feels like deja vu, except it is not dark. A crackling fire is near you, but it is much too large to cook anything other than a cow three times the size of a regular one.
"Awwae!" You look to your left, where the bigger giant looks at you excitedly. "Yunn." He points at himself. "Dorr." He points at the smaller giant. His voice is slurred, hard to understand.
"They're awake? Budge up, Yunn." The shorter giant (Dorr?) Walks over and lifts his companion from his chair. He guides him over to a table, where you can barely see a slab of meat, huge carrots and a knife. "C'mon now, like I taught you. Cut..cut...there you go." The shorter giant walks back over, leaving Yunn to cut the vegetables.
"Now, why'd yeh come here?" You stare up at his face, more relaxed than when you first saw him. "Yer friend's over there. Can't have you comin' up with a way to escape." He chuckles, as if the thought of escaping itself was a joke. " Yer tiny, tinier than other humans. Why'd yeh come to my lake?" His voice is low, deep, but there is not a hint of sarcasm or anger.
"My name is Gott. I'm the crown prince-"
"'-and rightful ruler of Galdur. I'm recruitin' an army to take the crown from my uncle, Mord. Will yeh join me?' Everyone in or near Galdur has heard yer speech, boy. I know who yeh are. But why would yeh come to my lake if you didn't even know who was boss? See my brother over there? Yunn? Good heart, no brain. All muscle. See me? All brain, no muscle. We match each other perfectly. Don't need nobody. DOn't even hate Mord much."
[["Much? Has he done something to you?"]]
[[Please, I need you to join me.]]"He banished us from Galdur. Don't know we're still here, don't he? Too stupid. Just like you. See that lake? It ain't magic. It's pure mechanical skill. Water pushed in with a high pressure rotary blade. Your fairy just used yer magic to press the button from the inside. Tell yeh what. You an' your friend can beat me an' Yunn in a fight, we're in. You did it with the little kid from the bar, didn'cha?"
[["Alright."]]
[["No."]]"Nah. Yer a weakling. Wouldn't even stand a chan..." His eyes suddenly glaze over, as if deep in thought.

[["Alright."]]
[["No."]]"Yunn! Untie the other one." You watch as Yunn climbs over to a small figure at the other side of the room. "Now if yeh don't mind..." The giant throws black powder at your face and your vision turns black again...
[[arena]]"No? What do'yeh suggest then?"
[[A challenge of smarts.]]
[[wait, go back. I'll fight.]]"You want a challenge of smarts? A'ight. Come 'ere." He begins to walk, t hen realizes you are still tied up. He grabs your hair and you wince. YOu drops you on the table, right next to the ridiculously large knife.
"I tell yer riddles. You get three, you win. You don't, we eat you."
Before you can nod he begins.
"16. 06. 68. 88. ?. 98. What's the ?"

[[castle]]You and Dinn are on the backs of the giants. You look towards Mord's, castle, where you see major damage has already been done. The outer wall is down, as well as the door to the inner one. Well, the giants can break the inner wall. And that they do. With a defeaning crash and a flurry or crushed concrete and cobblestone the inner wall falls. The king's remaining archers fire, hitting the giants. BEfore they continue to fight, you and Dinn are thrown into the remainig inner wall. People continue to fight as you and Dinn run, looking for your uncle and the [[throne room]]."NO!" You LOSE!" you got ONE right!"
"GRANNACK!" You turn, astonished. Yunn has made his way over and is gesturing at his brother. He continues to make the odd sounds. This, you understand, is Giant.
"All 'ight. Today's your lucky day, Gott." Dorr spits your name. "We're gonna give you a second chance. The fight."

[[arena]]You wake up in yet again another unfamiliar room. This has got to stop happening. You sit up, looking around. The room is not a room, but an open feild, or what's left of it. Flowers trodden, grass withering, but at least the sky is bright. As this thought crosses your mind a large black screen begins to close over the sky, blocking out most of the daylight. Bright white hot lights suddenly turn on, making you squint.
"Yer awake. C'mon. Got rules to explain."
[[rules]]"You can fight using anything. Yer friends here too, he can use 'is magic. Firs' team ter knock err'one out wins."
"That's it?" Seems simple. Dinn can just use his fainting spells.
"That's it." You feel the mood change slightly. Your tired groggy eyes morph as you examine the giants for any weak spots.
Yunn is big, but doesn't seem to know how to fight. He prances about, looking carefully at the shorter giant. Dorr is tiny, and doesn't seem to have much muscle.
You look around for Dinn, then spot his blue robes behind you to the left. His glance flickers at you, and he starts to chant slowly. Tiny starts to laugh. He and Yunn draw their swords, preparing for [[battle]]"Yunn! Give me it." You watch as Yunn (the taller giant) ctakes out a tiny black pouch. "I'm Dorr. Now if yeh don't mind..." The shorter giant throws black powder from the pouch at your face and your vision turns black again...
[[arena]]You run foreward, distracting the giants. You see Dinn cast a spell, and gasp. Tiny holds up his sword, blocking Dinn's spell. Even though spells could be deflected the sword would take the impact. The sword should be destroyed! The giants smile. You must get the swords away.
You dig your sword into Dorr's shin as Dinn duels Yunn. Taking advantage of him bending down you grab one of the loose strings on his shirt and swing, launching yourself into the air.
[[land on his head]]
[[land on his back]]You land on Dorr's head, gasping as a pungent smell hits you. He grabs you and holds you in his palm. Summoning your strength you cut into his hand, making him scream. You look at Dinn, who nods at you. Suddenly below you feet the ground begins to sparkle. You are lifted into the air, out of reach of Dorr and Yunn. The giants turn on Dinn, who cowers but keeps the spell.
He begins to run, still guiding you. You jump on Dorr's head without him noticing, and cut the nape of his neck. You wince at the smell of his blood but knock him on the head, making him faint. You reach over and grab a lock of his hair, launching you onto Yunn.
[[cut his neck]]
[[let Dinn handle him]]You land on Dorr's back, then feel yourself being swung back and forth as Dorr shakes, searching for you. Unable to hold on, you are launched into the air and hit the wall too hard.
You died.
Aim for the head. Even if he has (ew) lice.
[[Start]]You hurl yourself to Yunn's neck, cutting away the hair blocking his nape. You dig your sword into it, again wincing at the blood. Before you can jump off his hand sweeps around and knocks you off! He falls, but you are already in the air. "Dinn!" You scream. But he is being crushed by the body of the giant, unable to do anything but run.
What will you do?
[[fall. Who cares if I die.]]
[[aim for the giants' backs.]]Dinn sends a blast of light at Yunn, but he deflects it with him sword. He grabs Dinn and throws him to the side, like a paper doll. He saunters toward you and shaking you hold up your sword. BUt he grabs you and smashes your head against the wall just a little too hard.
You died.
This ones on Yunn though. He was only suppoed to knock you out.
[[Start]]If you die Mord will continue to be king, ban cake and kill all the cats in the world. If not for cake, do it for the cats.
[[aim for the giants' backs.]]You twist you body. You can land on Yunn, but maybe Dorr..
You turn and see the wall coming closer, closer. You quickly bend your knees, launching yourself off the wall and wincing as the force reverberates through your body. You are being thrown towards the back of Dorr. Turning so your feet take most of the impact you land on his back and tumble off, your legs giving out.
Ow.
[[giants]]Not exactly the best thing to say to a witch. Haven't you seen Dinn's powers? Imagine that but like a smidge more powerful. That's this lady.
''[[will you join my army?]]"
"[[what happened?]]"It was probably all that beer that you never drank and the food you never ate. Yes I'm aware that Gott doesn't eat or drink.(fun fact: Gott means "good" in Icelandic, where Galdur is based off of.)

[[climb]]Giants have different blood than humans and wizards. That's how you telll them apart, not their height. If a human was really short would you call them a gnome? No, theyre still a human. Gnomes bite. #stopgiantdiscrimmination2k18
Which giant will you speak to?
[[the bigger giant]]
[[the shorter giant]]The giants woke up a while ago. At least they stay true to their world. They agreed to take you back to the castle and help you fight Mor-
Hey it's the mountains! They're a lot faster than you and Dinn...
[[castle]]The throne room features a marble floor and a huge throne made of purple velvet. A large Galdurian flag hangs above the throne. Large arched windows embellished with gold accents show light from outside. Large mosiacs and portraits of Mord sneer at you. His short black hair is slicked back to the point of being a part of his tiny head. His moustache is curled and groomed. His eyes are rat-like and squinted. His cheekbones are high and sallow.
Good looking guy. If you have a major vision problem.
"So." You turn around where the ugly face is (how is that possible?) uglier in real life. "My beloved nephew has finally come to visit."
It's your uncle.
It's [[Mord]]Time for a brief aside! Mord is loosely translated from Icelandic to mean "murder". Also, he is a skilled archer but is terrible with a sword. Back to the story!
"Mord!" You search him for weapons. He carries the king's sword at his side but nothing else. You unsheath your own sword, preparing yourself.
"Now, child. I wouldn't hurt you. It's your dear uncle. The one who practically raised you." He smiles and saunters over. You hold your sword up, threatening him.
[["I'm going to kill you"]]
[["I'm going to imprison you"]]"Fiesty, aren't you? Well, it'll be harder than you think."
He turns, quickly snapping his sword foreward. Your sword clatters out of your hand, landing a good five feet behind you. Before you can react Mord turns and runs the other way. You run towards him, you cannot let him escape.
He turns a corner and you follow him. You've never been to this part of the castle. The dungeons. Suddenly a gold light flashes at the ceiling. The cement falls when it explodes, blocking your path out. You and Mord are [[trapped]]."Fiesty, aren't you? Well, it'll be harder than you think."

He turns a corner and you follow him. You've never been to this part of the castle. The dungeons. Suddenly a gold light flashes at the ceiling. The cement falls when it explodes, blocking your path out. You and Mord are [[trapped]].You turn towards your uncle with a hard glare. A year ago you were a far more superior swordfighter. But you haven't traianed since and if you did you forgot everything you learned. Mord always depended on his magic, which he could use easily. But he preferred slow charges, if they hit you were nearly dead but they took at least a minute to reach full charge.
You prepare yourself, turning slowly. You see his eyes flicker to your leg. What will you do?
[[attack]]
[[defend your leg]]You lunge foreward and cut Mord on his hand. He relys on his hands to cast magic. He curses, turning away and exposing his back. You kick, slamming him against the wall and making him crumple. But he is faking it. This is a tactic he has always used.
He uses the stones on the wall to push himself up. What will you do?
[[attack again]]
[[defend]]You reach down to block your leg with your sword. Too late you realize this was the wrong move. Mord swings and hits your back, knocking you down. YOu slide foreward past him and stand up again. He's improved.
[[try to attack]]
[[wait for Mord's attack]]You wait, studying Mord's moves. He smirks at you, then you see his fingers twitch. He is about to-
You hear a small voice in your head.
"I'm outside. If you can knock down the wall we can overpower him." It's Dinn. He can't make a sound, for fear Mord might realize.
You watch Mord quietly.
"Too scared to attack?" Mord laughs at you. His [[fingers twitch]] again. You lunge foreward and cut Mord on his hand. He relys on his hands to cast magic. He uses the stones on the wall to push himself up. What will you do?
[[attack again]]
[[defend]]You jump foreard again, slashing his other hand. He is defenseless against you now. He slumps in the corner, sword on the ground, whimpering and holding his hands.
Will you kill Mord?
[[no]]
[[yes]]You wait, studying Mord's moves. He smirks at you, then you see his fingers twitch. He is about to cast a spell. This one isn't a slow charge, even with lightning fast reflexes you will not be able to dodge it if you do not know where it is going.
[[lean left]]
[[lean right]]
[[stay]]His hands slowly curl into a ball and sparks fly. You have to dodge this one. You have to trust that it will hit the debris to allow Dinn through. The sparks turn red, then shake vioelently. Mord's smile widens and you cower near the debris.
BOOM
The rock is scattered in a thousand directions. You feel a piece of metal scrape your leg, but ignore it. Out of the cloud Dinn appears, chanting. You grab your sword and [[turn to Mord]].You drop your sword. You won't kill him. You can't stoop to his level. You grab his wrists, forcing him up. "You move, I kill you. You attack, I kill you. You do anything-" You hold his ear to your mouth, "I kill you."
You push him towards the rubble, then hear iInn. "Gott? Gott are you okay?"
"Dinn! Can you clear the debris away?" Before your sentence is finished you are blasted away and there is a hole. Dinn stares at you, then quickly conjures a rope to tie Mord's hands. You make your way back the the throne room, and outside where everyone has gathered.
[[you've won]]Your arms shake. Mord is curled in a ball before you, defenseless. You could do it. He killed your father, his own brother.
You raise your sword, tears bursting from your eyes. You swing and with a flash of silver-
[[you've won]]Congratulations on finishing Quest for Kings! Thank you for playing and have fun being the ruler of Galdur!Mord backs into a corner, knowing he is outnumbered. You swing foreward, cutting his palms. He is not able to move. He cannot cast magic.
Will you kill Mord?
[[yes]]
[[no.]]You drop your sword. You won't kill him. You can't stoop to his level. You grab his wrists, forcing him up. "You move, I kill you. You attack, I kill you. You do anything-" You hold his ear to your mouth, "I kill you."
Dinn stares at you, then quickly conjures a rope to tie Mord's hands. You make your way back the the throne room, and outside where everyone has gathered.
[[you've won]]"I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Dinn, an you found me on the outskirts of town when you escaped."
You look at the man, confused. You are outside the castle, he helped you escape Mord?
[["escaped from where?"]]
[["Continue..."]]Ignoring him you continue foreward, and when the guard looks down you jump on his back. You throw him to the side, and turn towards the exit. You turn quickly, the guard has banged his sword against the gong. Looking at the man you see his face has gone white. He starts muttering quickly, red and white tendrils begin the appear from his palms. He is a wizard! You hear boots tromping down the hall. You close your eyes and count the steps. Five soldiers. "You take the two on the left." you tell the man.
When you spot the head of the first one appear you lunge foreward and knock him down. You feel the blunt hilt of a sword hit your back as another guard appears. You steal the sword of the previous soldier and twist, throwing the other guard's sword away. You plant a kick in the man's chest, feeling a twinge of regret as you see his face clenched in pain.
Suddenly the third guard slashes his sword at your torso. You look at the soldier and thrust your sword at him. Dodge, deflect, advance, guard, lunge. You approach him, limping slightly from your wound. He falls to the ground in a kneeling position, and yellow sparkles surround him. Looking up you see your ally casting a spell to paralyze him temporarily. Together you [[leave the castle]]."You have been hostile. Trespassing on our land. Endangering our soldiers. Why should we help you."
"I can help you. I will bring you back to your home, you are not a native mountain tribe, if I am correct?" YOu speak slowly so he can understand.
"No. We lived in the forests."
You wait, unsure of whether he would agree or not.
"We will make our decision later. Leave." Before you can do anything the blindfold is tied to your head. You are pushed to your knees again.
"No move. Count 15 seconds." You count then whisk off your blindfold. Dinn is tied, shouting your name. You untie him and together you down to [[the trail]]Warning: you might turn into a human kebab. Though great for this dragon, it's not so great to rid the world of evil. Still wanna fight?
[[sure]]
[[nah]]"I want to kill Mord!" You stare at the dragon, yelling. He turns to you, and you wait, breath held, for an [[answer]].You step out and grab a golden cup. You slam it against a rock, creating a loud clanging sound to draw the dragon's attention away from Mord. Then you see it too late... The dragon's mouth opening and blowing fire as it turns straight at you. YOu can't even scream as the fire hits your skin.
